Help Send a Native Student to SAIGE!
How can I Help?
The sequestration has impacted most of our agencies, training and travel have been curtailed and funds formerly dedicated to supporting diversity efforts have been trimmed. SAIGE is feeling the effects of these cutbacks; one of the critical areas affected is our Youth Track.
Additionally, the Youth Track is growing and we have applications for students to attend this year’s training program. The American Indian Higher Education Consortium will be sending an additional group of students to the training program. However, we do not yet have full funding for the regular applicants.
In response to this situation, SAIGE has launched a crowdsourcing site on Indiegogo.com to help fund our Youth Track this year. The website is now live and available to you for your use and for you to share this opportunity with your friends and contacts who may support this student initiative.
You may refer people to the link:
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/help-send-a-native-student-to-saige/x/2837508]on
or the SAIGE website at www.saige.org. Please do not send any email from your government email account or to other government email addresses to avoid any appearance of impropriety.
Please DO use any personal social media tools you use, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, GovLoop or any others to spread the word about this effort. We need as wide a coverage as possible so that SAIGE does not have to turn any student away!
The site will be open for the next 8 weeks, so tweets, etc. every week or so are appreciated, to continue to put it on people’s minds, and ask them to spread the word as well. Indiegogo has the potential of providing the exceptional experience of the SAIGE Youth Track for at least ten students and your participation in flooding the web with this information is greatly appreciated!
Tomee Brown and Willy Bass, former SAIGE Youth Track participants/leaders helped create this site for future SAIGE Youth Track participants. Let’s show and share our support for them for creating the site!
SAIGE is a registered 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization, any donations are tax-deductible.
