CFC Debuts “Universal Giving Tool”

September 19, 2014Loriblog
From: Federal Executive Magazine:

CFC - Fed Exec 9_22_14

CFC debuts ‘universal giving’ tool

THE COMBINED FEDERAL CAMPAIGN has launched a new online tool to help donors retrieve information on the CFC-approved charities across the country to which they can now give though a new “universal giving” feature introduced nationwide this season.
After running successful universal giving pilots in several CFC regions across the country last year, the Office of Personnel Management announced that the CFC this year will permit donors to give to charities other than those on their local CFC charity list. Under the new program, federal employees now can donate to more than

24,000 participating CFC-eligible charities throughout the United States

and overseas.

CFC giving fell last season, and the hope is that permitting donations to any CFC charity regardless of location—such as to a hometown charity—will spur giving in the 2014 season.
Using the new CFC online search function, potential donors can search for a charity using one or more search elements, including the charity’s five-digit CFC code, name, keywords or taxonomy code.
The tool is at: https://apps3.opm.gov/CFC/CharitySearch/Main.jsp.
NOTE: SAIGE Code – #26052

SAIGE is on the CFC!

August 25, 2014Loriblog

SAIGE is very pleased to announce that it is on the Combined Federal Campaign list for 2014-15!

Now there is another way for federal employees to support SAIGE through regular payroll deductions.

Your contributions are needed to help SAIGE continue to build our great programs despite fluctuating agency budgets. As an all-volunteer organization, we work diligently throughout the year so we can offer the best quality training that is needed and desired by government workers.

When you sign up for SAIGE on the CFC, you become part of the SAIGE team making the National Training Program, Veterans’ and Youth Programs, and scholarships possible. You become part of that voice advocating for American Indians and Alaska Natives in the government workforce. When your agency begins the CFC Campaign this fall (Sept. 1 – Dec. 15) be sure to select SAIGE, #26052, and you can make a difference.

The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. Some, but not all regions, will offer e-giving options; check with your local officials.

SAIGE 11th Annual National Training Program—Albuquerque, NM

The Society of American Indian Government Employees (SAIGE) will hold its 11th annual National Training Program, Native Pride and Spirit: Yesterday, Today and Forever, at the Isleta Pueblo’s Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico, June 9-13, 2014. The training provides forums on the most current issues, opportunities, and challenges facing American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) government employees, the AI/AN tribes and the people we serve. The plenary sessions offer acclaimed and dynamic presenters and the developmental workshops are presented by knowledgeable speakers. Workshops are designed in these areas: Federal Indian Law, Leadership and Professional Development, and Indian Country. Networking opportunities with tribal and governmental leadership abound over the course of the Training Program.

SAIGE hosts an all-expense paid Youth Program designed to develop AI/AN college students into the next generation of leaders and introduce them to prosperous and fulfilling career paths in Government.  Recruiters from private and public sectors will have the opportunity to participate as exhibitors, meet the students, and promote career opportunities within their agencies and organizations. Youth Program scholarships are limited, so students are encouraged to apply soon. Applications may be found on the SAIGE website at www.saige.org under Youth Track News.

SAIGE proudly supports its Veterans Program developed for and by veterans that offers training specific to the needs of AI/AN veterans by highlighting available federal benefits and providing attending veterans exposure to varied employment options. The Veterans’ Program facilitates collaboration and partnership opportunities among veterans, agencies that serve them and veterans’ organizations. The Veterans’ Program is open to all SAIGE registrants and is free to local area veterans.

The SAIGE National Training Program early registration fee is $600 online by April 15; $650 to pre-register online by May 27; $700 for on-site registration.
