Nieva Brock

Nieva M. S. Brock currently serves as the Associate General Counsel, Administrative Law and Litigation Division in the Office of the General Counsel of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. She is a Defense Intelligence Senior Level attorney who leads a diverse team of highly skilled attorneys tasked with advising on all matters related to civil litigation, personnel law, ethics, standards of conduct, counterintelligence, insider threat, and other administrative law issues. She is a member of the Society of American Indian Government Employees (SAIGE) and honored to be part of the SAIGE Warrior Society.

Ms. Brock is proud Taino Indian, a registered member of Higuayagua Taino of the Caribbean, and native New Yorker who is retired from the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps with an established record of public service that predates her military career. Between earning her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and enrolling in law school, she served as a child abuse investigator in New York, homeless services coordinator for the American Red Cross, and Social Worker for abused and neglected children.

Ms. Brock was commissioned as an Ensign from the University of San Diego School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree and was honored with the Law School’s first “Child Advocate of the Year” award. She served for twenty years as an active duty Navy judge advocate with increasing responsibility domestically and overseas, including tours as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, Staff Judge Advocate, Officer in Charge, Executive Officer, and Commanding Officer. Her most rewarding experience in active service was her deployment to Iraq supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Ms. Brock has received many awards and decorations, including the Latina Styles Award for excellence in leadership and Honorary Master of Laws degree from Stetson University College of Law.

Ms. Brock lives in northern Virginia with her family.
